10th August 2007 - Officer Simone & Props |
The update that we have today is probably the largest one yet (hence the long time since our last update).
What we have to show is one more character, and a whole mess of props.
The character is a female police office that works alongside Brock and Jake, her name is Officer Simone.
The props are numerous and include (in no particular order) a bottle of Bourbon (Brock's) a typewriter and a pinboard for Brocks investigations.
To see the full list check below.

It has been more than a month since our last update, and I am glad to say we have 3 items to show today.
First we have some shots of a new map, Brock's Apartment. The shots we have to show are preliminary, there is little detail in the map as we have yet to complete a full prop list. This is also true for the Police station map.
Second we have some shots of a new character that has been completed, Leon Pyke (Police Captain). He (just like Brock and Jake) is complete and ready for animations and facial poses.
Last we have one more car to show, a 1940's Ford Sedan. It is to be used as a prop to decorate the streets.
We also have some updated shots of some existsing assets:

18th May 2007 - Jake Lives |
Today we have to show you the completed Jake Knight. He is the Junior Detective who is learning the ropes from Brock.
In other small news, Brock now has a Fedora hat made for him.

3rd May 2007 - Chrysler 1955 New Yorker |
This update is small, but it is quite important. This is Brocks car. A Chrysler 1955 New Yorker. It is as close to the original as could be done with the time that there was to create it.
I will be away for a short time. When I return I will tweak the textures, but other than that this model is complete.

19th April 2007 - Props `N` Junk |
Today I have some props to show. All of these props are for the "Police Station" level. All of them are completely custom built with custom textures (minus the chair and bench as they are both Valve`s models but I just re-skinned them).
Once work is completed on these custom props, work will begin on the next map.

9th April 2007 - Police Station Update |
Here are some updated screenshots of the current state of the "Police Station" level:
Most of the brush work is finished. The current task is to further add detail. This will eventually include adding custom props which I will start on after I complete this.

4th April 2007 - Some story and screenies |
Today, we have 2 updates. Firstly Richard has decided to release some more story/gameplay infomation. Secondly I have some screenshots of some preliminary work that I have been doing on the police station.
Here is what Richard had to say:
Greetings. I’m writer/producer Richard Johnston for the project Dead End and today I’ll be running over some of the futures of the game and a little story.
The main character is Brock Flannigan, a detective for the local PD. Primarily you’ll play as Brock although the story is told through four other playable characters. The entire game is played out in black and white; we’re keeping all the visual elements of a true film noir.
We aim at crossing the lines of FPS and RPG with players being able to upgrade their detective skills. These skill points will be award as you play the game and depending on how you play the game will determine the type of skill points you collect. At the moment we have three groups: Good Cop, Neutral and Bad Cop. Playing down the path of Bad Cop will allow a player to accumulate Bad Cop skill points which in turn unlocks Bad Cop skills. Both types of points, Good and Bad, can be spent on the Neutral category that would provide the likes of agility, strength and stealth.Another advantage of the elements of RPG will include the option for players to follow leads and play them out in their own manner. Solving the case could come down to evidence you over looked or a witness you didn’t question.I’ve also put a great deal of time into character conversations and allowing players to choose what the character asks or responds with when interacting with NPC’s.
And here are the Police Station screenshots:
Please note that there is much to add to this. Consider these shots to be from pre pre pre alpha stage. Most models that are present are either for testing purposes or temps for models to be added later.
